ZionSphere is a virtual reality faith experience platform that places users inside biblical stories — starting with Jonah & The Whale. Instead of reading about Jonah, you're inside the story. Instead of hearing about faith, you're encountering it.
The Open Doors Program exists because we believe access to this kind of experience shouldn't depend on a church's budget. We sponsor fully-funded deployments for youth groups from underserved communities — churches, libraries, after-school programs, and any organization that serves young people.
Giving through the Open Doors Program is tax-deductible. The program is administered through our fiscal sponsorship with the Christian Ministry Alliance (CMA), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations made to the Open Doors Program through the CMA go directly toward sponsoring free VR deployments for qualifying youth groups.
Volunteers are the boots on the ground that make every deployment happen. Without you, the doors stay closed.
Whether you're a tech person, a people person, or just someone who shows up — there's a place for you on this team.
No surprises. Here's exactly what serving with Open Doors looks like.
Most events are in and around Rocky Mount, NC — expanding as we grow. You'll always know in advance where and when.
We train every volunteer before their first deployment. No experience with VR? No problem — we've got you covered.
Join a team of people who believe every young person deserves to encounter the Word of God — and are willing to show up to prove it.
All youth-facing volunteers must complete a background check. It's how we protect the kids we serve.
We work around your schedule. Even a few hours a month makes a difference. There's a role for every availability level.
Every deployment, every hour you serve is part of a calling — to display the things of God in places they've never been displayed.
"I came to help set up equipment. I stayed because I watched a 12-year-old stand inside the belly of the whale and say, 'This is real.' I've never felt more useful in my life."

"I've worked in tech for 15 years. Using those skills to help a child encounter Scripture? That's the most meaningful thing I've done with them."

"ZionSphere was built out of obedience to a calling from God. The Open Doors Program exists because that calling doesn't stop at a paywall — and our volunteers are the proof of that."
