Why This Role Matters

VR equipment doesn't drive itself. Our ability to reach every community — not just the ones closest to us — depends entirely on volunteers who are willing to load up a vehicle and show up. This is one of the most impactful roles we have.

What You'll Do

  • Transport VR equipment and supplies to and from deployment sites
  • Assist with loading and unloading at each location
  • Coordinate with team leads on pickup and delivery timing
  • Occasionally transport other volunteer team members when needed
  • Help maintain vehicle and cargo cleanliness and organization

Typical Shift

3–5 hours on deployment day including pickup, transport, event support, and return.

Time Commitment

As few as 1 deployment per month. This role is critical — even occasional availability makes a major difference.

Requirements

  • Reliable personal vehicle capable of transporting equipment (SUV, truck, or van preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be 18 years or older

Screening Requirements

  • Background check required — instructions provided after application approval. ZionSphere covers the cost.
  • Drug screening required — conducted prior to first deployment. ZionSphere covers the cost.
  • A valid driver's license and clean record will be verified as part of the screening process.

Training

Transportation volunteers receive a brief onboarding covering our equipment handling guidelines, packing procedures, and communication protocols. Training is straightforward — if you can drive and follow a checklist, you're ready.
