CFO / Treasurer

Build the financial infrastructure of a national mission.

The CFO/Treasurer is responsible for the financial integrity of ZionSphere's nonprofit. As the organization moves toward independence and begins managing its own grants, donations, and program expenses, this role becomes critical. The right person will help build the financial systems, processes, and culture that allow the mission to scale responsibly.

What You'll Do

Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management

Lead the organization's annual audit process and ensure compliance

Provide financial oversight and accountability to the full board

Review and advise on grant budgets, restricted fund management, and program cost allocation

Help select and implement nonprofit accounting systems and controls

Ensure compliance with IRS reporting requirements (Form 990)

Year One Priorities

Establish the organization's first independent budget and financial reporting cadence

Select and implement appropriate nonprofit accounting software

Oversee first grant draw-downs and restricted fund management

Prepare the board for its first Form 990 filing as an independent entity

Ideal Candidate

CPA, CFO, or financial executive with nonprofit fund accounting experience. Familiarity with grant compliance and restricted funds is a strong plus.

Time Commitment

Expect 4–8 hours/month. Heavier during budget season and audit preparation.
