Vice Chair

Govern with vision. Lead with purpose.

The Vice Chair is a senior governance leader of ZionSphere's nonprofit organization. This person sets the tone for how the board operates, facilitates meetings, and ensures the organization stays true to its mission as it grows. The Vice Chair supports the founder and executive team and is positioned to step into a Chair role as the organization matures.

What You'll Do

Facilitate quarterly board meetings and ensure productive, focused governance

Serve as the primary point of contact between the board and the founder/executive team

Lead board recruitment, onboarding, and annual performance reviews

Represent ZionSphere in high-level partnership and stakeholder conversations

Guide the development of bylaws, governance policies, and board operating procedures

Ensure fiduciary duties are met and the organization remains legally compliant

Year One Priorities

Lead the transition from fiscal sponsorship to independent 501(c)(3) formation

Establish board operating procedures, committee structure, and bylaws

Conduct the board's first formal annual review of the founder/executive director

Co-sign on the organization's first independently filed annual report

Ideal Candidate

Senior executive, retired pastor, nonprofit board veteran, or civic leader with proven governance experience and a heart for the mission.

Time Commitment

Expect 5–10 hours/month including meeting prep, one-on-ones with the founder, and occasional stakeholder engagements.
